تم الكشف عن اللعبة رسميا يوم الاربعاء 17 نيسان 2013[8], كما أصدرت مؤسسة إلكترونيك آرتس عرض دعائي للعبة في أعقاب الكشف عنها على نحو رسمي, العرض خاص بطريقة اللعب ويتطرق للمميزات الحديثة التي تم ادخالها على السلسلة مثل (فيزياء

حراسة الكرة: كما يظهر من الاسم، تعتمد تلك الأفضلية على حراسة الكرة ومنع مدافعي الفريق الغريم من الوصول إليها بواسطة التمكن من المراوغة خلال استعمال السرعة أو بدونها، ونفس الشأن ينطبق على المدافعين الذين سيقومون باستعمال قوتهم البدنية لمنعك من المرور واحراز المقاصد، ووفقا لذلك بدأ كرَّة مضادة ممنهجة من الخط الخلفي.
